A magic Wairarapa day ensured a record turnout to view the Little Avondale Stud draft on Sunday Feb 14. Fortunatly the old trees provided enough shade for the equine enthusiasts to enjoy the 18 strong yearlings getting their first exposure to a large crowd.
A big thank-you from the LA Team to everyone that came You provide an incredible atmosphere that is wonderful exposure for the yearlings before they have to deal with it at Karaka. Towkay led the parade not putting a foot wrong - like all perfect men ?@#$%^? showing his incredible temperament that has been a stamp on his progeny.

The two top fillies LOT 159 Redoubts Choice - Foxtrot LOT 346 Pins - Rites Of Spring caused a stir with LA proprietor Sam Williams describing the first like Angelina Jolly and the second his "runner" of the draft. Here's hoping they have the same effect on the buyers at Karaka!

A number of the yearlings are owned in partnership or sold on behalf of vendors and many traveled from the Hawkes Bay, Wellington and Auckland to view their yearlings. Of note was the last yearling to parade LOT 600 No Excuse Needed - Cymbidium owned by Rob Tunnicliff and LA. They say the best are kept for last and LOT 600 is no exception, he's a magnificent looking colt that will cause a lot of interest.
