Armada Confirms Status With Runaway Hong Kong Win

Armada_Stewards_Cup07.jpgKiwi-bred Armada confirmed his status as the best horse racing in Hong Kong when he ran away with the HK$8 million G1 Stewards’ Cup at Sha Tin yesterday.

The son of Little Avondale Stud stallion Towkay was having his first start since being narrowly beaten in the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Mile on December 10. He made up for that slight lapse in his formline with an emphatic performance against a field described as comprising the best available local talent.
With eight wins from 10 starts, the John Size-trained and Ringo Wong Yuk Lun owned gelding now has the option of going through to the next two legs of the older horses’ triple crown or be set for the Dubai Duty Free in late March.
