Nadeem Colt Too Slick

Speedy colt Sir Nate (Nadeem-More Diamonds by No Excuse Needed) upstaged recent ten length trial winner and hot favourite Beastmonde to win the opening two-year-old event for the season at Wanganui on Wednesday.

Bred by Brown and Fusion Thoroughbreds and bought from LA’s 2017 Karaka Select draft by his trainer Lisa Latta, the powerfully built colt has the right profile to develop into a leading juvenile. Sir Nate’s full sister Karavali finished fourth in the 2016 Manawatu Sires Produce behind Luna Rossa and Saracino.

Co-incidentally as it happens LA could find themselves in the rare situation of having prepared and sold the winners of first babies events of the new season in both islands with recent four length trial winner Devious (Per Incanto-Angel Del Dinero b My Halo) expected to be a strong contender for early season honours down south. Trained by Shane Kennedy and Anna Furlong at Riccarton, the LA bred colt was a $50,000 purchase by his trainers and Waterford Bloodstock from the same draft as Sir Nate.
