Please For The Animals - NO MORE FIREWORKS

Unfortunatly for the Towkay Partnership, the owners of the stunning Towkay colt out of Wake Up Susie took fright in the local fireworks held at Henly Lake Masterton. The LA Team had stood all around the farm during the display to keep an eye on the horses. A broken shoulder meant he had to be put down. It ended up being a double wammy with Wake Up Susie reabsorbing her Towkay pregancy.
However with farming we know these things can happen - it's just frustrating when some of these accidents are avoidable. The result in yesterdays Gr 3 Gold Cup Metropolitan Trophy proved to be a winner also for LA Stud who have just secured a partnership deal with Richard and Sarah Greaves in the breeding rights to the mare Shahiid. Shahiid is a full sister to the winner Pentahon (Pentire – Star Royal) and was covered earlier in the week by resident sire Towkay.  Also gaining Black Type was Kitty O’Hara (Melifont - She's Chic) who ran 2nd in the Listed Canterbury Breeders Stakes 1400m at Riccarton. Kitty O’Hara’s dam, She’s Chic, foaled a Towkay colt on Friday which was bred by the Towkay Partnership. Keep an eye on the foaling page of the LA web www.lastud.com/foaling for all the latest pictures of our future stars! Other Towkay results – High Octane 1st, Hezgotow 1st, Lady Cavalier 2nd, Kowloon Fit 3rd (HK), Kay’s Awake 4th and Heapzatow 4th. Dansing Fun (Danasinga – Kenucky Lass) bred by LA Stud had his first win in Hong Kong for Trainer Tony Millard. Kentucky Lass is visiting Elusive City this year in what may be her last year at the stud.
