LA in Thick of Ellerslie Action

Wednesday, 07 November 2018 20:15

The courageous front running grey Saint Emilion (Mastercraftsman-Roseario by Pentire) returned to the scene of his Group 1 Zabeel Classic victory last summer to record back to back wins in the 2000m Group 3 OMF Stakes at Ellerslie on Melbourne Cup day.

Passed in when part of the LA draft at the 2013 Karaka Select Sale, Saint Emilion, who was bred by the late Robyn Horton and raced by Mike Brown, took his stake earnings to the cusp of 500k with his latest success, his 15th.

There was a further LA flavour to the next race at Ellerslie when Glorious Beijing (Per Incanto-Summer Nymph by Danske) was too strong for his rating 82 opponents over 1400m. The Per Incanto six-year-old was having his second start back since running second in the Group 2 Wellington Guineas as an autumn three-year-old.
