The three-year-old fillies Tutta La Classe (Per Incanto – Cantsaydadsname by Almutawakel) and Mohaka River (Nadeem-Diplomacy by No Excuse Needed) were both placed in the listed features at Wanganui on Saturday.

Placed in the Listed Ryder Stakes at her last start, Tutta La Classe defied the general racing pattern on Saturday when she made ground stylishly for third in the Listed (1200m) The O’Learys Fillies Stakes.

And franking her debut third at Taupo a fortnight ago to the stakes winning pair of Xpression and Santa Catarina over 1100m, the Nadeem filly Mohaka has stepped to 1340m to run third in the Listed HS Dyke Wanganui Guineas behind two male counterparts, with the winning spoils going the way of the Zed gelding Bobby Dazzler bred by Jomara Bloodstock.

Bred by Eddie Lowry and trained by Guy Lowry and Grant Cullen at Hastings, Mohaka is Nadeem’s 25th individual stakes performer.

First and foremost, stockman and people whose interest in the animal translates into an innate ability to read how a horse will develop. I’ll see a foal at LA and Sam or Buzz will tell me how they expect it to develop. I’ll see it during my Karaka inspections 12 months later, and you could blow me over with a feather
