Per Incanto Roll Continues in BOOK 2

Thursday, 01 February 2018 20:51

Per Incanto’s impressive start to the 92nd NZB National Yearling Sales continued in Book 2 on Thursday.

Hong Kong’s Upper Bloodstock paid the day’s top price securing Highden Park’s Per Incanto colt from the Encosta De Lago mare Lago Rider for 200k.

Upper Bloodstock’s Ross Lao and his business partners Andy Lau and Tristan Hui certainly did the hard yards in yesterday’s rough weather to secure the flashy chestnut.

“This was a really nice horse by a sire that has been performing well in Hong Kong”, Lao said.

“We saw him yesterday (Wednesday) and have been back many times during the day. He was the one we wanted.”

Per Incanto sits in third position on the Book 2 sire averages at the end of day 1.

Christopher Grace’s Burgundy half-brother to his 1000 Guineas place-getter Sweepstake (Per Incanto) fetched LA’s leading price for the day, purchased by Exempt Bloodstock and Mike Breslin for $110,000.

Another satisfying client result was Richardson Racing’s purchase of the Per Incanto-Baradevi filly for $90,000. The short-coupled, early running type was presented by LA in partnership with another longstanding client and friend Jim Barlow.
