Per Incanto Run Continues

Monday, 22 October 2018 04:33

Six domestic winners in four days has Per Incanto (pictured) chasing down his former LA barn mate Zed for the lead in the NZ sires premiership for individual winners.

Thursday’s Woodville treble, featuring the exciting three-year-old Satu Lagi (Per Incanto-La Singa by Danasinga), was followed by wins on Saturday at Rotorua, by the Don Gordon bred La Mia Stellar (Per Incanto-O’Stellar by O’Reilly), and at Ashburton, where the Tony Rider bred Attimo (Per Incanto-Today Not Tomorrow by Occidental Tourist) accounted for the highly regarded 2000 Guineas nominated Sacred Quartz.

Rotorua also saw fine performances by the two Per Incanto mares in the days feature event, the Group 3 Arawa Stakes. The stakeswinning LA bred mare Indecision (Per Incanto-Yeah Nah by Kinjite) missed by a nose to give her connections, which include Trelawney Stud, another black-type win for her pedigree page, while Santa Monica (Per Incanto-Monarch by Volksraad), making her stakes debut and significantly disadvantaged by the set weights criteria, rattled home for a close fifth.

Zed, who sired his tenth stakes winner courtesy of Very Elleegant’s outstanding win in the Group 3 NZB Ethereal Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday, leads the NZ sires premiership with 17 individual winners.

Another great job by LA Stud, we have complete confidence in you guys
