Momentum Continues At Select Sale
Our strong Premier Sale results carried over into the Select Sale which finished at Karaka on Friday afternoon. LA finished the session as the third leading vendor by average, selling 12 lots at an average of $64,000, a record average for the farm at the Select Sale.
Highlights included the sale of the Towkay colt, LOT 665, from Dancing Daze for $160,000 to South Africa’s Worldwide
Bloodstock, and the Savabeel colt, LOT 706 from Eighty Twenty on behalf of David and Sarah Howarth for $140,000.
The only Zed yearling, pictured right, in the catalogue belonged to our colt from Maria’s Story, LOT 887 and the close relation to Melbourne Cup runner-up Maluckyday sold to the owners of Haylist in Perth for $50,000.
Following on from the Premier Sale where his only yearling sold for $170,000, Towkay had another strong session finishing in tenth position on the Sires by Averages with six lots selling for an average price of $64,000. With all nine stallions above Towkay standing for significantly higher service fees, it’s yet another example of the wonderful value for money the son of Last Tycoon represents at just $5,000 plus GST.
