Kick On Kicks On

Progressive 5YO Kick On (Per Incanto- Kick Back by Bahhare) was a comfortable winner of the feature flat race on the last day of the Grand National meeting at Riccarton on Saturday.

Bred and raced by Manawatu couple Sam and Pip Trotter, the Kevin Myers trained galloper seemed to appreciate the better track conditions than those he encountered on the first day of the carnival when eighth as favourite in the 1600m Group 3 Winter Cup.

The Per Incanto gelding, whose latest win was his sixth from just 18 career starts, holds a nomination for the AUS $5 million Caulfield Cup in October.

Kick On was one of three metropolitan winners for his sire across Australasia on Saturday, following a double in Adelaide courtesy of the David Woodhouse bred Next Dimension and the Brian Nally et al bred Born To Run.

Meanwhile, Time Test arrived back at LA on Saturday, in stunning condition to begin his fifth SH season. The son of Dubawi enjoyed another successful week in the UK with a trio of three year-old winners and a second placing to Mark Todd’s progressive colt Time Step.

A real sense of stockmanship and a love of the animal. When our mares arrive back from LA, they look like they’ve had a month at Club Med, with some of the trimmings of the buffet, but also the glow of having had the attention of a personal trainer
