Per Incanto's Winning Run Continues

Sunday, 05 May 2024 07:10

Per Incanto’s recent run of winners continued in fine style last week, with the son of Street Cry recording seven in the first three days of May.

The stallion is second equal on the NZ sires premiership for winners. He also sits second on the Hong Kong sires premiership for winners.

The Beaufort Downs bred mare Precious Charm (Per Incanto-Highly Valued by High Chaparral) certainly knows the right type of races to win. An $80k Karaka purchase by her trainer Symon Wilde, the 4YO mare, who won at Flemington during the Melbourne Cup Carnival last year, scored in impressive style at the prestigious Warrnambool Carnival last week.

Rarely a week seems to go by where Per Incanto doesn’t have an Australian metropolitan winner. On Saturday at Caulfield, the Chris Doak and Rosie Ealden bred Miss Chrissie (Per Incanto-Turf Fire by Pins) won over 1100m, taking her record to four wins from 14 starts, and nearly $200k in prizemoney.

Domestically the headline win last week was Hasstobeperfect’s success at Woodville on Friday. The LA and Richard Tong bred mare was registering her fourth win, and her first further than 1600m as she came clear in the closing stages.

Per Incanto has five mares catalogued for the Magic Millions Broodmare Sale on the Gold Coast on 28-30 May, highlighted by dual Group 1 winner Belclare.
